Graupel, Snow Falls on DFW
NBC 5's Keaton Fox, Lindsay Wilcox and Kendra Lyn report from across North Texas as a graupel/snow mix falls on the Metroplex.
The National Weather Service has extended a Winter Weather Advisory until noon Tuesday.
A batch of snow pellets, sleet and rain is moving through the Metroplex. Some icy spots may develop on area roads. Precipitation will end by late morning. The remainder of the day will be dry and cold.
The weather has caused some schools to delay start times Tuesday morning. Please check for school closings and delays here. Additionally, the weather has delayed or canceled hundreds of flights out of both Dallas Love Field Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Traffic along several area overpasses has been slowed to a crawl as drivers use caution to avoid ice and slick spots. The Texas Department of Transportation reports that the High 5 was closed shortly before 8 a.m. All other area overpasses are believed to be sanded, though drivers are still warned to use extreme caution.
There is a slight chance for another round of light wintry weather Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Here is a look at the upcoming forecast:

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cold. Low: 27. Wind: N 5-10 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy and cool. Late night winter mix possible. High: 50. Wind: NW 5-10 mph.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. Low: 34. High: 53. Wind: N 10 mph.
FRIDAY: Sunny. Not as cold. Low: 32. High: 56. Wind: S 5-10 mph.
SATURDAY: Sunny. Low: 36. High: 58. Wind: S 5-10 mph.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy. Low 35. High 55. Wind: NE 10 mph.
