It'll be up to a jury to sort through six days of drama, testimony, and allegations in the child custody battle between Deion and Pilar Sanders. At the heart of the case: the couple's three children.
Deion Sanders is the final witness is the jury trial over primary custody. He didn't take the stand until after 9:30, because Pilar Sanders showed up to court a half hour late without explanation.
"Primetime" gets one last chance to give his side of the story to allegations that have come up in court this past week.
"I am who I am. I think I am a great dad. I think I'm Father of the Year," says Deion Sanders.
That's what he wants the jury of seven women and five men to take away from the past six days of testimony in the child custody battle for his three kids.
Sanders Custody Case Enters Final Round
Day six of the drama-filled child custody fight between Deion and Pilar Sanders could bring some closure on Tuesday.
Deion and Pilar Sanders' Monday Court Appearance
The custody battle between Deion and Pilar Sanders continued on Monday. Jurors are expected to have the case Tuesday at noon.
Deion Sanders hopes to be awarded primary custody of his two sons and daughter.
"All the nonsense. All the side stuff: the steroids, abuse allegations. To say who's the good parent. Side step all of that," says Deion Sanders.
Deion Sanders testified Tuesday that after a fight with Pilar Sanders at their Prosper home in April 2012, when she was arrested and taken to jail, he didn't tell the kids to fill out a police report against their mom or coach the kids what to write.
Deion Sanders says he's not trying to keep the kids from his mother.
"Thank you for everyone praying for me and my children," Pilar Sanders said on her way into the courthouse.
Pilar Sanders' attorneys argue she's not allowed near Deion Sanders' home, and claim the kids have to walk a long distance from the gates near the road up to the mansion.
"I believe the children need both parents. Just like it takes to parents to conceive, it takes to parents to raise. Hopefully that will be possible," Pilar Sanders said.
Pilar Sanders' attorney, Larry Friedman, believes a victory would be if she was awarded primary custody.
"A good outcome would be having access to both parents, with Pilar the sole conservator," Friedman said. "Let's see what happens."
The Sanders' children will not have to testify.
Once Deion Sanders wraps up his testimony, both sides will give closing arguments. The decision will then be in the hands of the jury.
